[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) continues to receive warm helping hands to support neighbors through the cold winter.

Jungnang-gu announced on the 23rd that it received a total of 11 million KRW in donations for a warm winter. The donations were made by Daekwang Church, Jungnang Home Care Long-term Care Institution Association, and the golf club Vitamin.

Daekwang Church donated 7 million KRW, while Jungnang Home Care Long-term Care Institution Association and the golf club Vitamin each donated 2 million KRW. The district plans to entrust the donations to the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest so that low-income households in the area can receive support.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "The warm hearts sent will greatly help neighbors in need to spend a warm winter," and expressed gratitude to Daekwang Church, Jungnang Home Care Long-term Care Institution Association, and the Vitamin club officials.

Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Ki-jae) attended the ‘Midam Family Volunteer Group Donation Ceremony’ held in the open participation room on the 5th floor of the district office on the morning of the 26th and took commemorative photos with officials.

The Midam (Future in Mind) Family Volunteer Group, composed of parents from Yangcheon-gu and Gangseo-gu, donated 1 million KRW as the 2023 Warm Winter Fund on that day.

Mayor Lee Ki-jae said, "I thank the Midam Family Volunteer Group for delivering warm hope to neighbors in the community through their donation."

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) announced on the 21st that the family of Lee Sang-hoon donated 3 million KRW to the Doksan 1-dong Community Service Center to be delivered to vulnerable households as part of the 2023 Warm Winter Project.

The Lee Sang-hoon family practiced sharing by increasing their donation amount from 1 million KRW in 2020, 2 million KRW in 2021, to 3 million KRW this year.

Notably, even though the Lee Sang-hoon family moved from Doksan 1-dong to another area this year, they increased their donation. This was because they were deeply moved by a letter of gratitude from a recipient of last year’s donation.

The Doksan 1-dong Community Service Center plans to select economically vulnerable households facing financial difficulties and deliver the donations according to the donor’s wishes.

Lee Sang-hoon said, "I wanted to teach my children the lesson of helping those in need," adding, "Although it is not a large amount, I hope it can help vulnerable households overcome difficulties even a little."

Yoo Sung-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I appreciate the empathy and donation for neighbors’ hardships for three consecutive years," and added, "I believe the precious practice of the Lee Sang-hoon family and the beautiful heart of the grateful recipients will spread throughout Geumcheon-gu and become a great opportunity to establish a culture of sharing."

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Kang-seok) announced that it received a 5 million KRW donation for the ‘2023 Warm Winter’ from singer Song Ga-in’s fan club.

On December 26, to celebrate Song Ga-in’s 37th birthday, members of the official fan club ‘2nd Seoul AGAIN’ practiced warm sharing for neighbors in need in the local community.

Following the good influence of Song Ga-in, who is often called a donation angel for her various charitable acts, the fans also participated in fostering a culture of donation.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, a donation ceremony was held in the lobby of Songpa-gu Office’s first floor. The funds will be used to support low-income families in the area with living, medical, and housing expenses during the upcoming year-end and Lunar New Year holidays.

A fan club official said, "To celebrate Song Ga-in’s birthday, all members gathered their hearts to prepare this precious donation," adding, "We hope this heart will be well delivered to neighbors in need so that everyone can have a warm year-end."

Seo Kang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "I thank everyone who added warmth to the community with their warm sharing and contributed to spreading the culture of sharing," and added, "We will carry out meticulous administration so that no one is left out and all residents can have a warm and happy year-end."
