The Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) stated that he had been receiving treatment for cerebral hemorrhage and burns since immediately after the accident but died that morning.
The police and fire authorities estimated that steam from the Hydro Cleaver, a machine that manufactures composite panels using manual pressure, exploded.
The Yangsan branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor is known to be conducting an on-site investigation of this workplace and reviewing whether to apply the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
A KCTU Gyeongnam branch official said, “We will thoroughly investigate the cause of death of the worker who died due to the explosion accident and fight to hold the actual management accountable.”
