[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Buksi, an airport-specialized mobility service subsidiary of Gukbo, announced on the 23rd that it has signed a strategic business agreement with blockchain technology company Answer to introduce blockchain-based payment and mileage systems.
Through this business agreement, Buksi has laid the foundation to enhance blockchain-based payment and mileage benefits on its existing platform. Answer plans to implement its blockchain technology on a broader scale.
Buksi is a mobility platform with over 200,000 subscribers, primarily serving airport users. It is also the exclusive Korean partner of Japan's MK Taxi and is pursuing business expansion into Asia. Answer is developing blockchain services based on its experience building various financial big data systems in banking, securities, and insurance sectors.
Park Junhyung, CEO of Answer, said, "We are now able to provide various benefits and rewards incorporating the blockchain technology accumulated by Answer to Buksi users who frequently travel internationally. We will add diverse payment methods using blockchain technology to the existing mileage system and introduce a convenient service that does not require currency exchange."
Lee Jaejin, CEO of Buksi, said, "At a time when the overseas travel market is revitalizing due to the COVID-19 endemic, we will prepare to enable the use of Buksi services not only domestically but also abroad. We expect to provide systematic rewards to users by combining Answer's Asian business network with blockchain technology."
