[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced that Dongan Church (Senior Pastor Kim Hyung-jun) located in Imun-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, donated 28,000 kg of rice (equivalent value 71.96 million KRW) for neighbors in need in the community on the morning of the 22nd at 10 a.m. at the Dongdaemun-gu Office Plaza in celebration of Christmas.

Senior Pastor Kim Hyung-jun of Dongan Church said, “It has already been 16 years since the first Christmas rice donation, and I am grateful to be able to practice sharing again this year,” adding, “Even in economically difficult times, I am thankful once again that we could convey the warm hearts of the congregation more than last year.”

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “Every Christmas season, I thank Dongan Church, Dongan Welfare Foundation, and the 8,000 congregation members for donating rice for neighbors in need in the community,” and added, “The donated rice will be promptly delivered to the places where it is most needed so that marginalized neighbors who may be experiencing a colder winter than anyone else during the year-end and New Year holidays can feel warm affection.”
