Korean Senior Research Institute Launches Ultra-Low Electric Bed 'Floor Bed' for Fall Prevention

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Silver tech company Korea Senior Research Institute (CEO Lee Jin-yeol) announced on the 22nd that it has officially launched the nursing electric bed 'Floor Bed' by Japanese company France Bed in Korea and is making a full-scale entry into the premium welfare equipment distribution business.

The Floor Bed was officially designated as welfare equipment by the Ministry of Health and Welfare last October, and long-term care insurance grade beneficiaries for the elderly receive more than 85% of the monthly rental fee supported by the National Health Insurance Corporation.

The Floor Bed is an electric bed designed to prevent falls among the elderly. It is an ultra-low bed that lowers to a height of 11 cm from the floor, and can be adjusted up to a maximum height of 61 cm from the floor, allowing caregivers, facility care workers, and nurses to provide care without bending their backs.

Korea Senior Research Institute plans to intensify its welfare equipment sales and distribution business starting with the official launch of the Floor Bed. To this end, it plans to establish a specialized welfare equipment service center in the first quarter of next year to organize a professional disinfection system for rental products.

Lee Jin-yeol, CEO of Korea Senior Research Institute, said, "We will focus on creating a systematic system to provide premium welfare equipment to elderly people in need of care," adding, "The Floor Bed will also help improve the quality of life for caregivers and care workers without a large financial burden."
