[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Amid a surge in COVID-19 infections following the Chinese government's easing of quarantine measures, hotels dedicated exclusively to infected individuals who voluntarily isolate themselves have emerged.

According to internet media outlet Pengpai on the 21st, a hotel in Nanning City, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, recently launched a 5-night, 6-day quarantine package priced at 1,099 yuan (approximately 200,000 KRW) for those isolating.

Guests are not allowed to leave their rooms freely, and meals must be delivered.

The hotel explained, "About half of our staff are infected with COVID-19 and unable to provide services," adding, "Guests can have their food delivered to their room doors."

A hotel in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, has also been converted exclusively for COVID-19 infected individuals.

This hotel, which was recently used as a quarantine hotel for overseas arrivals, is emphasizing that its staff are experienced in serving quarantined guests while recruiting guests.

The cost is 400 yuan per night, including three meals a day and traditional Chinese medicine. It is reported that the hotel currently has an occupancy rate of 80%.
