Xiaomi Launches Redmi Buds Essential and Smart Laser Distance Meter

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] Xiaomi announced that the ‘Redmi Buds Essential’ and ‘Xiaomi Smart Laser Distance Meter’ will be launched domestically at midnight on the 22nd.

The Redmi Buds Essential delivers high-quality sound and clear voice transmission. Equipped with a 7.2mm dynamic driver professionally tuned by Xiaomi Acoustic Lab, it minimizes distortion and provides high-resolution sound quality including powerful bass and clear, crisp high tones. Additionally, through artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, it effectively filters ambient noise and accurately recognizes the speaker’s voice, offering clear call quality.

It supports ‘Gaming Mode’ to provide an optimized environment for enjoying mobile games. Pressing and holding both earbuds simultaneously for 1.5 seconds automatically switches to low-latency gaming mode. Gaming Mode resolves the delay issues that typically occur with Bluetooth connections, where the screen and sound are out of sync, enabling real-time synchronization of visuals and audio.

With an IPX4 waterproof rating, it offers everyday water resistance to protect the product from sweat and water. It can be used with relative confidence in various environments such as during intense workouts at the gym or outdoors in harsh weather conditions like snow or rain.

Furthermore, it applies Bluetooth 5.2 for more stable signal transmission and enhanced interference prevention. Users can enjoy smooth and stable music playback without interruptions. When earbuds are taken out of the charging case, they automatically connect to the phone, providing easy connectivity and immediate connection without additional setup after the first use. The left and right earbuds can also be used individually.

It can be used for 5.5 hours on a single charge. The charging case, equipped with a large 300mAh battery, allows continuous use for up to 18 hours. It features a simple and sophisticated design with a matte surface, offering comfortable wear and excellent portability due to its lightweight. The Redmi Buds Essential will be released in two colors: Classic Blue and Matte Blue.

The Xiaomi Smart Laser Distance Meter enables stable real-time distance measurement with high accuracy within an error margin of no more than 3mm. Using a Class II laser, it can measure distances from a minimum of 5cm up to a maximum of 40m. Its intuitive and simple one-button design allows power on/off by pressing and holding the button for 2 seconds, and starting/stopping distance measurement and data recording with a short press. Double tapping easily switches between front and rear measurement modes.

It can be used in various ways such as measuring furniture size, distances between furniture, and decoration range when moving or doing self-interior work. When operated via the Mi Home app or Xiaomi Home app, multiple functions are supported for smart use. For example, users can draw floor plans in the app to measure distances. Additionally, for area and volume calculations, length, width, and height data can be flexibly selected for addition, subtraction, and other calculations.

It can be remotely controlled through the app, allowing safer use in slippery surfaces or narrow spaces with remote distance measurement. Moreover, the app provides an appliance recommendation feature that intelligently suggests suitable appliances based on room size and visually simulates how the appliances would look inside the room on the screen.

With a large 370mAh lithium battery, it can measure distances 3,000 times on a single charge, allowing long-term use without frequent charging. It uses a standard USB Type-C charging port, offering compatibility with other electronic devices for more convenient charging.

Additionally, it is equipped with a high-brightness LCD display that clearly shows current and past measurement data, Bluetooth connection status, battery status, and other information at a glance. The dual matte finish surface creates a smooth and simple design, providing a comfortable and excellent touch experience.
