The expectation of selling the Chinese rights for "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate," which has been maintaining high viewership ratings recently, has been highlighted following the news that China has announced the broadcast of Korean dramas for the first time in over six years since the Hanhanryeong ban was imposed.
As of 9:19 AM on the 21st, RaemongRaein is trading at 27,200 KRW, up 2.25% compared to the previous day.
According to industry sources the day before, Anhui Satellite TV, a major Chinese broadcaster, announced that it will air Korean dramas for the first time in over six years since the Hanhanryeong ban was enacted. Anhui Satellite TV was a representative broadcaster that aired many Korean dramas in China. Dramas such as "That Winter, the Wind Blows," "The Moon Embracing the Sun," and "My Love from the Star (Byeolgudae)" were broadcast in China through Anhui Satellite TV.
Recently, signs of easing the Hanhanryeong ban have appeared in China. Since last November, Korean movies and dramas such as "Hospital Playlist" Season 1, "Twenty-Five Twenty-One," and "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon" have been available on Chinese OTT platforms.
RaemongRaein is the production company of "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate," which has been enjoying soaring popularity with viewership ratings exceeding 24%. Lee Hwanwook, an analyst at IBK Investment & Securities, stated, "RaemongRaein holds 50% of the intellectual property (IP) rights for 'The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate,' which has been maintaining high viewership ratings recently," and added, "Additional profits are expected through future sales of Chinese broadcasting rights and other IP-related merchandise."
