[2023 Regular Admission] Sungshin Women's University to Select 751 Students in Regular Admission... Composition Department Only Through Early Admission

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Sungshin Women's University will select 751 students (within the quota) in the 2023 academic year regular admission. The humanities and natural sciences departments will recruit from groups A and B, while the arts and physical education departments will recruit from groups A, B, and C.

Sungshin Women's University will accept regular admission applications from December 30 to January 2.

Under the general student selection, 491 students will be selected from group A, 220 from group B, and 40 from group C, totaling 751 students. The humanities and natural sciences departments will consider only CSAT scores (100%), while the arts and physical education departments will consider CSAT scores (30-70%) and practical exam scores (30-70%) depending on the department. Among the departments, the Department of Contemporary Practical Music has increased the weight of the CSAT compared to last year, and the Composition Department will only select students through early admission starting in 2023 and will not select students through regular admission.

The CSAT scores use percentile ranks, and the ratio of designated CSAT subject areas varies by department, so it is essential to check the admission guidelines. Humanities and natural sciences departments must reflect four areas (Korean, Mathematics, English, and Inquiry), while arts and physical education departments select the top three areas to reflect. Additionally, some departments within the quota-based selection grant additional points (5-20%) depending on the CSAT subjects taken, so checking the admission guidelines is necessary.

Applicants must take the designated CSAT subject areas for each department, and failure to take the designated subjects will result in disqualification. The English section reflects percentile conversion scores based on grades. The Inquiry section reflects the average percentile scores of two subjects, and substitution with a second foreign language or Chinese characters is not allowed.

Applicants must take two Inquiry subjects, and since the Inquiry subjects considered vary by department and selection type, it is necessary to check the admission guidelines. For the mandatory Korean History qualification, additional points are awarded based on grades.

For special admissions outside the quota, the Rural Students Admission (outside the quota) will select a total of 68 students from groups A and B. The Specialized High School Graduates Admission (outside the quota), Equal Opportunity II Admission (outside the quota), and Working Adults Admission for graduates of specialized high schools (outside the quota) will select students by department or field if there are unfilled spots in the corresponding early admission categories.

The Rural Students Admission (outside the quota), Specialized High School Graduates Admission (outside the quota), and Equal Opportunity II Admission (outside the quota) select students from groups A and B based solely on CSAT scores (100%), while the Working Adults Admission for graduates of specialized high schools (outside the quota) selects students from group A through a comprehensive student record evaluation.

If there are over-enrollments or unfilled spots in early admission, the number of regular admission spots for the 2023 academic year may change. If the number of spots changes, the final number of recruits by department can be confirmed on the Admissions Office website on the 29th.
