Prosecution Indicts Kim Sae-ron Without Detention for Drunk Driving Accident... Passenger Who Aided Also Faces Court Trial Actor Kim Sae-ron.

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin, Legal Affairs Specialist] Actress Kim Sae-ron (22), who caused an accident in May while driving under the influence and hitting roadside trees and a transformer, has been indicted.

According to the legal community on the 20th, the Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Choi Woo-young) indicted Kim without detention on the 16th on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving and failure to take action after an accident). The prosecution also indicted a passenger in their 20s who was riding with Kim at the time on charges of aiding and abetting drunk driving.

Kim is accused of driving under the influence around 8 a.m. on May 18 in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, causing multiple collisions with guardrails and roadside trees.

Our outlet exclusively reported the news of Kim's drunk driving accident on May 18 under the headline '[Exclusive] Actress Kim Sae-ron hits structures while drunk driving in Gangnam and flees... under police investigation.'

At the time of the accident, Kim's car collided with a transformer, cutting off electricity supply to 57 nearby stores and other locations, which was restored after about three hours.

Because Kim refused a blood alcohol concentration test, the police requested a blood test from the National Forensic Service. The test results showed that Kim's blood alcohol concentration at the time of the accident was over 0.2%, significantly exceeding the license cancellation level of 0.08%.

Earlier, on June 28, the police transferred Kim and the passenger to the prosecution.

Kim debuted as a child actress and appeared in films such as The Man from Nowhere, The Neighbor, and dramas like The Queen's Classroom and Diary of a Witch, but has suspended activities following the accident.
