[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Professor Park Taegyun of Seoul National University (photo) has been appointed as the new president of the Korean History Research Association.
The Korean History Research Association announced on the 19th that at the 36th regular general meeting held on the 17th, Professor Park Taegyun of Seoul National University was unanimously appointed as the new president.
Professor Park Taegyun, who previously served as the dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University, has devoted himself to research on modern Korean history, including the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He stated, "I feel an immense sense of responsibility upon being elected as the president of the Korean History Research Association. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the former president and members. I will do my best to ensure that the members of the Korean History Research Association can carry out their research and academic activities smoothly."
The Korean History Research Association, founded in 1988 during a period of 'social transition,' is the largest Korean history research organization in the country, established to fulfill the duties of researchers. It currently conducts activities such as academic presentations and the publication of Korean history books.
