Granting Regional Development Project Benefits Within 10 Billion Won to Yuchi Village
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting a 50-day public contest for the site of the county-run crematorium from the 16th of this month until February 3rd of next year.
This public contest for the county-run crematorium site is part of the preparatory phase for the establishment of the county-run crematorium and Happy Park, which is one of County Governor Oh Taewan's campaign pledges.
The contest is conducted by having the village representative (village head) or the representative of a corporation or organization submit an application through the relevant eup or myeon office after obtaining consent from more than 60% of the household heads registered in the village. The County-run Funeral Facility Promotion Committee then reviews and decides on the site.
The county plans to provide incentives such as regional development projects, granting operational rights for auxiliary facilities, and job creation within a total project cost of up to 10 billion KRW, by allocating 2 billion KRW annually for five years to administrative villages located within 2 km of the crematorium after its completion.
Governor Oh said, "Even if there are difficulties, we will definitely provide the necessary welfare. Uiryeong-gun will take responsibility for the entire life cycle of its residents, from birth to the last moment," and added, "Collecting residents' opinions is of utmost importance. We will listen to the voices of the residents as much as possible."
Detailed information about the contest can be found on the Uiryeong-gun Office website under Notices and Announcements.
