[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Traffic accidents are occurring one after another in the Jeonnam region, where a heavy snow warning has been issued.


According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 18th, at around 3:04 a.m. that day, a vehicle slipped on a snowy road and overturned on a road in Haecheon-myeon, Boseong-gun, Jeonnam.


The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.


At around 5:58 a.m., a report was received that a vehicle slipped on a snowy road in Beolgyo-eup, Boseong-gun, and the fire authorities transported the driver with minor injuries to a hospital.


In Samseo-myeon, Jangseong, at 5:28 a.m., a vehicle collided with a guardrail, and in Muan, a vehicle got stuck between guardrails in an accident.


At around 7:34 a.m. on a road in Beolgyo-eup, a report was received that a bus, a truck, and a passenger car collided in a chain accident, and the fire authorities confirmed at the scene that the vehicles had stopped just before the accident.


In addition, nine accident and rescue reports were received by the fire authorities in the morning alone.


Passenger flights were also frequently canceled.


Gwangju Airport canceled a total of 12 flights, including six departing flights until 10:30 a.m. and six arriving flights until 11:40 p.m.


Muan International Airport is also experiencing delays of international flights bound for Bangkok, Thailand, and four domestic flights for departure and arrival were canceled.


At sea, all passenger ship routes (54 routes, 88 vessels) were suspended, and mountain roads such as Seongsamjae in Gurye, Dumokjae in Jindo, Chopyeongjae in Jindo, and Mira-jae in Wando are also closed to traffic.


Meanwhile, the Korea Meteorological Administration issued a heavy snow warning for 15 cities and counties in Gwangju and Jeonnam, and a heavy snow advisory is in effect for Gwangju, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong, Jangseong, Hwasun, Naju, Boseong, Jangheung, Gangjin, Haenam, Wando, Yeongam, Muan, Mokpo, Sinan, and Jindo.
