Strengthening Energy Savings for Grade 1 Boilers
80-Story Haeundae Doosan We've the Zenith
New Landmark for Domestic Super-Tall Buildings
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Doosan Construction's apartment brand We’ve signifies a living space that nurtures people’s lives, representing a residential environment that modern individuals desire and want to live in. Launched in April 2001, it embodies the meanings of a place with the joy of living (Live), love and happiness (Love), a space you definitely want to have (Have), frugal living (Save), and a place where all life’s problems are solved (Solve). It aims to present apartments with spaces people want to own and lifestyles they want to cherish. Through We’ve, Doosan Construction pursues a philosophy of creating better residential and comfortable living spaces. Currently, the brand is divided into general apartments ‘We’ve’, luxury residential-commercial complexes ‘We’ve The Zenith’, and small officetels ‘We’ve Centium’.
◆We’ve Born in 2001... Employing Differentiated Design Strategies= First introduced in April 2001, ‘We’ve’ began with ‘Doosan We’ve’ in Geumgok-dong, Bundang New Town, Gyeonggi Province, and later expanded to officetels in Seoul’s Cheonho-dong, Gangnam Station, Gwanghwamun, Baekseok-dong in Ilsan, Gyeonggi, and Haeundae, Busan, with derivatives such as ‘We’ve Centium’ and ‘We’ve Pavilion’. In 2003, the ‘Poseidon’ brand was combined with ‘We’ve’ for residential-commercial complexes in the Gyeongnam region, and in 2004, the name ‘We’ve The State’ was given to a residential-commercial complex in Jung-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. ‘We’ve The Zenith’ was launched in 2005 with the sale of a residential-commercial complex in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu.
Doosan Construction applies differentiated design strategies considering consumer characteristics. These are embodied in △Well-Being system (Healthy homes create healthy people) △Digital system (Advanced future living, upgrading lifestyle) △Economic system (Energy-saving apartments that save more the more you use) △Security system (24-hour safety protection in unseen places).
First, through a smart home system, We’ve creates a healthy and comfortable living environment without user operation by controlling lighting, heating, and ventilation using big data.
Doosan We’ve residential complexes pay special attention to advanced security facilities. 2-megapixel CCTV cameras are installed at safety blind spots including vehicle entrances, underground parking lots, building entrances, elevators, and children’s playgrounds. Especially, emergency bells in children’s playgrounds and underground parking lots allow immediate contact with the disaster prevention center when the emergency button is pressed, preventing crimes. To ensure safety in vulnerable low-rise areas on the 1st and 2nd floors, motion detectors are installed, and a parking control system at vehicle entrances restricts access to outsiders, prioritizing residents’ safety.
The energy system maximizes energy efficiency. It applies regenerative inverter elevators for energy saving and standby power cutoff outlets that automatically cut unnecessary standby power. Low-power, long-life LED lights are used inside units in security lights, underground parking lots, elevator halls, and communal facilities, enabling electricity bill savings. Additionally, energy usage information for electricity, water, and gas is provided via unit wall pads, allowing residents to compare consumption. Eco-friendly energy-saving faucets that limit unconscious hot water waste are installed in bathrooms, and eco-friendly boilers with energy efficiency grade 1 are provided, among various energy-saving systems.
The well-being life system was introduced with a focus on a comfortable living environment after COVID-19. It includes an in-unit heat exchange ventilation system that purifies indoor air and a central water purification system that supplies clean mineral-rich dissolved oxygen drinking water to each unit after virus sterilization.
Alongside this, Doosan Construction’s unique storage system ‘Chaeum2030’ offers design plans that enhance usability for consumers who have started to prefer smaller units. It improves the visual issue of small spaces appearing cramped and makes the space more functional. This approach is praised by consumers for enabling a more practical and functional lifestyle rather than merely pursuing superficial changes.
◆Rewriting the History of Super High-Rise Residential Buildings= ‘Haeundae Doosan We’ve The Zenith’, completed by Doosan Construction, surpassed Seoul’s Dogok-dong Tower Palace (69 floors) and Mok-dong Hyperion (69 floors), symbols of Korea’s super high-rise buildings, by opening a new chapter in 80-floor residential buildings. It is a landmark building with a height of approximately 300 meters, consisting of 70 to 80 floors above ground. ‘Haeundae Doosan We’ve The Zenith’ is composed of three residential towers of 70, 75, and 80 floors and one office building on a 42,500㎡ site.
The design features curves representing the waves of the sea in front of Haeundae and the flow of Jangsan Mountain, with a flower petal motif harmonizing with the surrounding environment. The curved exterior design maximizes the advantages of Haeundae’s super high-rise buildings. The living room windows maximize the viewing area to offer panoramic views of Haeundae Beach, as well as Nurimaru and Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
Bukhan-san Doosan We’ve (Phases 1 and 2), consisting of eight buildings with 497 units from basement level 3 to ground level 21, and four buildings with 296 units from basement level 4 to ground level 11, is a complex harmonized with natural surroundings such as Baekryeonsan, Inwangsan, and Hongchejeon waterway. A total of 54 units are terrace-type. This complex stands out for its design implementing various digital technologies and energy-saving features.
We’ve The Zenith in Ilsan is the first super high-rise complex supplied in Ilsan, consisting of eight buildings with 2,700 units from basement level 5 to a maximum of 59 floors above ground. The Ilsan Doosan We’ve The Zenith complex offers various community and resident convenience facilities commensurate with its scale, enabling a one-stop life. In particular, We’ve The Zenith Square is a street-type commercial area representing ‘Ilsan Doosan We’ve The Zenith’. Connected to Tanhyeon Station by a bridge, We’ve The Zenith Square has become a new landmark by attracting local residents’ attention as a premium stay-type mall where shopping, entertainment, and dining can be enjoyed all at once, addressing the previous shortage of such facilities in the Ilsan area.
