Global comprehensive content studio WhyNot Media (CEO Minseok Lee) announced on the 16th that it has signed a content planning and development contract with the film division of content media group NEW (Next Entertainment World).
The two companies plan to collaborate and invest in the planning and development of a total of three contents, including the working title "Charge Me Up," over the next three years. Through this contract, they intend to diversify genres including dramas and variety shows. Additionally, they aim to strengthen the global success and competitiveness of their content by entering domestic and international OTT platforms.
Leading the new media industry, WhyNot Media leverages its capabilities in planning and producing trend-setting works targeting the MZ generation, such as "From the Perspective of an Omniscient First Love," which was the first web drama to reach 100 million views, and the "When I Was Targeted by a Bully" series, which has achieved over 200 million total views. WhyNot Media is accelerating new content development by utilizing these strengths. Through this contract with NEW, which is active in content investment, distribution, and marketing and develops IP business comprehensively, WhyNot Media is expected to create synergy by demonstrating diversified content planning and production capabilities.

Meanwhile, WhyNot Media is a new media specialized company that has expanded its base by producing content suited to the new mobile viewing environment. Last year and this year, it sequentially acquired shares in OZ Arena Co., Ltd., which has excellent production staff, The Great Show Co., Ltd., and NameX Entertainment, a character & animation IP studio established by core members who planned and produced BTS’s character TinyTAN.
