Goseong-gun Rises as Top Local Government in 'Local Price Stability Management Performance Evaluation'

Secured 100 Million KRW Financial Incentive for Recognized Measures to Stabilize Ordinary Citizens' Livelihoods

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, was selected as the best local government in the 'Local Price Stability Management Performance Evaluation.'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has earned a 100 million won incentive as a result of its strenuous efforts to curb soaring prices for the stability of ordinary citizens' lives.

On the 15th, the county was selected as the best local government in the 'Local Price Stability Management Performance Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and received a financial incentive of 100 million won.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety set six indicators for all 243 local governments to seek stability in daily life amid the recent continuous surge in prices: ▲stability management of local public utility charges ▲support for good price businesses ▲inflation rate of personal service fees ▲performance in stabilizing local prices ▲performance in stabilizing personal service fees ▲special price stabilization policies. They conducted quantitative and qualitative evaluations as well as external expert assessments to assign group grades to each local government. Goseong-gun was awarded the top 10% 'Grade A'.

Goseong-gun was recognized as the best local government for implementing various policies throughout the year to stabilize the lives of ordinary citizens, including reducing water and sewage fees for small business owners, suppressing increases in public utility charges, conducting a thorough overhaul of good price businesses and promoting usage week events, holding price stabilization meetings and campaigns.

County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, “This year, Goseong-gun has prioritized price stabilization as the top task to overcome the ongoing high inflation caused by both domestic and external circumstances for the stability of ordinary citizens' lives. I feel proud that our busy efforts and fieldwork in administration have been recognized. We will continue to do our best.”
