Damyang-gun Wins Top Award for Regional Economic Revitalization Evaluation

High Praise for Old Downtown Revitalization and Small Business Market Expansion Projects

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it was selected as the best institution in the regional economic revitalization evaluation at the ‘2022 Jeollanam-do Job Fair’ held in Jeollanam-do, receiving an institutional commendation and a prize of 10 million won.

The regional economic revitalization evaluation was conducted targeting 22 cities and counties within Jeollanam-do to promote regional economic revitalization by discovering and spreading excellent economic policies. The evaluation covered 18 indicators in 6 areas, including exemplary cases of economic revitalization, price stability management, and support and fostering of small and medium enterprises and small business owners.

Damyang-gun received high marks for its efforts that greatly contributed to regional economic revitalization by operating the Damju Damidam Art District for revitalizing the old downtown area and promoting the ‘Joyful (GO) Worry-Free (Beer)’ beer festival.

It also gained significant attention for its efforts to strengthen the self-sustainability of small business owners by promoting a market development project for small business owners, issuing Damyang Love Gift Certificates worth 31.3 billion won, and launching a mobile gift certificate that combines speed and convenience, achieving consumption promotion results.
