[Asia Economy, Reporter Kim Heeyoon] "I wanted to create content that could comfort and resonate with young people by depicting a bromance between a young man, weary from years as a trainee and now running a Bungeoppang street stall to make ends meet, and a talkative Bungeoppang character."

On December 14, animation studio NameX Entertainment announced the release of a teaser animation for "Dr. B-PANG," a heartwarming and chaotic healing content featuring an idol trainee and the Bungeoppang character. NameX Entertainment is a character and animation IP studio founded by key members who planned and produced TinyTAN, the BTS character brand.

Ko Yoona, CEO of NameX Entertainment, explained, "Dr. B-PANG tells the story of an idol trainee operating a street stall in front of Nakwon Arcade in Jongno, and Dr. B-PANG, a lively and talkative Bungeoppang character, as they bring to life the stories of local alley businesses. It is a snack-sized content that delivers empathy and healing, enjoyable for all ages."

NameX Entertainment has overseen every aspect of Dr. B-PANG, from planning its universe and developing characters to producing the full 3D animation. The company noted the growing global interest in K-culture, especially Korean food culture. Ko added that the playful characters inspired by street food and the cozy atmosphere of the street stall, which captures a uniquely Korean sentiment, will offer a new experience to K-culture fans around the world.

The response to the content has also been enthusiastic. Even before its official launch, the Dr. B-PANG Instagram account (@dr_bpang) had already surpassed 1,000 followers. The company plans to continue releasing content for the MZ generation through Instagram, including fancy merchandise and mini-content.

Additionally, following the Bungeoppang character Dr. B-PANG, more characters based on familiar Korean foods-such as the Roasted Chestnut Corps and the Dancing Tteokbokki Parade-will continue to appear, adding to the fun and unfolding stories of expanding into neighborhood businesses around the world.

CEO Ko said, "Dr. B-PANG begins with the touching story of an idol trainee, worn out from endless practice, who runs a small Bungeoppang street stall to make a living and listens to the advice of a talkative Bungeoppang. Please look forward to the chemistry between these characters, the bromance they will develop, and the lively musical performances they will deliver in the story."

NameX Entertainment attracted investment from Whynot Media in May.
