Hyundai Motor Company Receives Presidential Citation for 'Youth Employment Promotion'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 14th that it received the Presidential Citation in the ‘Youth Employment Promotion’ category at the ‘2022 Job Creation Merit Government Awards Ceremony.’

The Job Creation Merit Government Awards have been presented by the Ministry of Employment and Labor since 2009 to recognize individuals and organizations that have played a leading role in creating quality jobs. This year’s ceremony was held on the 12th at the Sejong Convention Center, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Hyundai Motor was recognized for its efforts in supporting the creation of quality youth jobs by expanding the scale of new hires, operating its own internship and industry-academia cooperation internships, and expanding job training in future industries such as eco-friendly vehicles and autonomous driving. Additionally, the operation of the ‘H-OnDream Startup Ground’ was highly praised for contributing to solving social issues and creating jobs.

The ‘H-OnDream Startup Ground’ project, launched in 2012, discovers, nurtures, and invests in impact startups. As of September this year, it has nurtured 294 startups and created 5,195 jobs, significantly contributing to youth job creation and social problem solving. Furthermore, Hyundai Motor provides various supports to improve recruitment systems and working environments, including blind recruitment, flexible work hours, telecommuting, and expansion of smart office infrastructure.
