[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] On the 13th, SeAH Group carried out a regular executive personnel reshuffle, promoting 23 people.
Regarding this personnel reshuffle, SeAH Group explained, "We have strengthened responsible management by each affiliate," adding, "We prioritized organizational stabilization and internal growth, while also appointing talents with insight to seize opportunities in rapidly changing global markets and new demand industries, as well as quick judgment and execution capabilities to respond flexibly."
There was one promotion to president, with Lee Sang-eun, CEO of SeAH Changwon Special Steel, being promoted to president. The new president Lee Sang-eun joined SeAH Changwon Special Steel (formerly Sammi Comprehensive Special Steel) steelmaking plant in 1984, and has held positions such as executive in charge of steelmaking at SeAH Besteel, head of the technology research institute, Changwon plant manager of SeAH Changwon Special Steel, and head of production division (CEO). Since March 2020, he has served as CEO of SeAH Changwon Special Steel. He was recognized for leading high growth based on his 30 years and 6 months of experience and management capabilities within the group.
Additionally, Kim Dong-gyu, CEO (Executive Director) of SeAH CM, and Kim Yong-jin, head of the Nuclear Power Business Office at SeAH Besteel, were each promoted to vice president. Kim Dong-gyu, the new vice president who became CEO of SeAH CM in 2017, joined SeAH Steel’s export team in 1988 and has served as an executive in charge of overseas sales, planning, and sheet sales. Kim Yong-jin, the new vice president, joined Samsung Heavy Industries in 1983, worked at Volvo Construction Equipment and Schaeffler Group, and was recruited as a management advisor at SeAH Holdings in 2017. Before taking charge of the Nuclear Power Business Office last year, he worked as plant manager at SeAH Besteel Gunsan Plant and team leader at the innovation centers of SeAH Besteel and SeAH Changwon Special Steel.
