Four Representative Tourist Attractions of Ulsan Selected... Taehwagang National Garden and Yeongnam Alps Chosen for the 4th Consecutive Time

On the 13th, Ulsan City announced that four representative tourist destinations in Ulsan, including Taehwagang National Garden and Yeongnam Alps, were finally selected for the ‘2023~2024 Korea Tourism 100 Selections.’
Now in its 6th edition, the ‘Korea Tourism 100 Selections’ is chosen every two years by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to promote domestic representative tourist destinations and revitalize tourism.
The selection process involves preliminary candidates of 235 sites, selected through excellent tourist destinations from the existing 100 selections, local government recommendations, and big data analysis. These candidates undergo document and on-site evaluations, and the final selection committee chooses 100 sites.
The representative tourist destinations in Ulsan selected for the Korea Tourism 100 Selections are △ Jung-gu’s ‘Taehwagang National Garden’ (4th time) △ Nam-gu’s ‘Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone’ (2nd time) △ Dong-gu’s ‘Daewangam Park’ (3rd time) △ Yeongnam Alps (4th time), totaling four locations.
Taehwagang National Garden and Yeongnam Alps have been listed in the 100 selections for four consecutive times, proving their popularity and reputation as top domestic tourist attractions.
Kim Seok-myeong, Director of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau, said, “The four places in Ulsan selected for the Korea Tourism 100 Selections are representative tourist destinations enjoyed by many tourists nationwide every year,” adding, “We plan to attract domestic and international tourists by developing competitive stay-type tourism products and promoting them in connection with the 100 selections.”
