[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Kolon Industries announced on the 13th that it has completed the 'Sangsaeng Hub,' a win-win complex facility for employees and local residents, on the site of Kimcheon Plant 1 within the Kimcheon Industrial Complex in Gyeongbuk.

The Sangsaeng Hub complex facility, completed with an investment of about 10 billion KRW, covers a total area of 4,000㎡ and is a three-story building offering various convenience facilities such as a caf?, fitness center, futsal field, and the eco-friendly energy experience exhibition hall called 'Eco Longlong Cube.'

In particular, the Eco Longlong Cube is a unique social contribution program facility of the Kolon Group, providing a space where children can experience clean energy facilities. After the Eco Longlong Cube located at Kolon One & Only Tower, the headquarters in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Kimcheon is the first regional business site to have this facility. The Eco Longlong Cube within the Sangsaeng Hub targets upper elementary and middle school students and accepts group education applications through its website.

Additionally, solar panels have been installed in the parking lot space for local residents and employees using the Sangsaeng Hub, demonstrating Kolon's efforts toward carbon neutrality. It is expected to reduce carbon emissions as about 10% of the Sangsaeng Hub's electricity consumption can be self-produced.

More than 80 people, including Kolon Industries President Kim Youngbeom, Kimcheon Mayor Kim Choongsup, and employees from affiliates such as Kolon Plastics and Kolon BASF Innofoam, will attend the Sangsaeng Hub opening ceremony held in the afternoon.

A Kolon Industries official said, "With the completion of the Sangsaeng Hub, we have presented a regional cooperation model by achieving both regional coexistence and eco-friendliness," adding, "We hope that the Sangsaeng Hub, which pursues the value of togetherness, will firmly establish itself as a landmark of the Kimcheon Industrial Complex."
