[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT and 1MILLION announced on the 13th that they will provide the '1MILLION HomeDance AI Coaching Tutorial' service through KT Internet TV (IPTV) platform Genie TV.
The 1MILLION HomeDance AI Coaching Tutorial service adds an artificial intelligence (AI) coaching mode to the dance lesson videos of '1MILLION HomeDance,' which was launched last August. It applies AI dance motion analysis technology independently developed by KT Convergence Technology Institute to estimate users' motion posture information. After the lesson, it compares the dance videos of the user and the choreographer to evaluate motion similarity and activity level.
From now on, users will be able to enjoy dancing and receive dance coaching not only in dance studio spaces but also at home.
This service is available on KT Genie TV Set-top Box A (formerly Giga Genie A) and Genie TV Set-top Box 3 (formerly Giga Genie 3). It can be accessed through the Genie Apps in the top menu. A webcam connection is required for AI coaching mode and video recording. The usage fee ranges from 2,200 KRW to 4,800 KRW (including VAT) per session, depending on time and difficulty.
Meanwhile, on October 4th, KT launched 'Media Portal' Genie TV, which enhances AI curation to improve accessibility to desired content, and strengthened interactive specialized services focused on viewer interests such as golf and dance. The dance theme section is integrally composed of dance-related TV programs, movies, and popular YouTube videos, with '1MILLION HomeDance' also offered as a representative service.
Kim Hoon-bae, Executive Vice President of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, “To provide differentiated value of the media portal through Genie TV, we will continue to discover interactive specialized content that can interact with customers through partnerships with various heterogeneous industry operators beyond real-time broadcasting, video on demand (VOD), and over-the-top (OTT) services, and integrate media and AI technologies.”
