[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Lee Cheol, a former Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member (Democratic Party of Korea, Wando 1), received a plaque of appreciation on the morning of the 12th at the Soan Cultural Creation Center in Wando Soan Port during the 'Soan-myeon, Nohwa-eup, Bogil-myeon Village Chiefs Unity Event.'
This plaque of appreciation was presented by the Soan-myeon village chiefs to express their gratitude to Assemblyman Lee Cheol for his efforts toward regional development.
Since being elected as a member of the 11th Provincial Assembly, Lee has worked hard to resolve various long-standing local residents' issues, such as the construction of land and island bridges, through provincial government questions and the Budget and Accounts Special Committee.
In the provincial government question session last October, he elicited a response from Jeonnam Province that efforts would be made to commence construction of the island bridge between Soando and Gudo in 2024. This project is expected to have a total budget of 140 billion KRW, with 70 billion KRW each from Jeonnam Province and Wando County.
Lee said, “My election as a provincial assembly member is thanks to the support of the village chiefs and local residents,” adding, “I will continue to represent the residents by leading efforts to solve drought issues and ensure the smooth construction of land and island bridges, as well as addressing other local issues.”
