The 15th Gyeongsangnam-do Disabled Sports Awards Ceremony Held

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The 15th Gyeongsangnam-do Disabled Sports Awards ceremony was held on the afternoon of the 12th at the new building auditorium of the Gyeongnam Provincial Government.
The awards ceremony has been held annually since 2008 to encourage the efforts of athletes who contributed to the development of sports for the disabled and to raise the status of disabled sports.
The event was attended by Governor Park Wan-su, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Council Kang Yong-beom, awardees and their families, and about 500 disabled athletes. The program included a Nanta performance, awards presentation, delivery of sports scholarship and sponsorship certificates, greetings, and commemorative photos.
On this day, eight individuals including Yoon Chang-gu, a player from the Gyeongnam Disabled Shulren Association, and Ji Jeong-hwa, a physical education teacher from Sacheon Disabled Welfare Center's sports support team, received the Governor's Commendation. Six individuals including Kim Han-young, an athlete from Changwon Disabled Athletics Federation, received the Provincial Council Chairman's Commendation.
Four people, including Lee Jeong-hee, Secretary General of Yangsan Disabled Sports Association, were awarded the Gyeongsangnam-do Disabled Sports Association President's Appreciation and Merit Plaque.
Sports scholarship certificates were presented to four athletes including student Woo Hyun-wook, and sports donor sponsorship certificates were given to three individuals including Hong Mi-woong, who were recognized for their contributions to the development of disabled sports.
Governor Park said, “Our athletes have shown passion and effort at the Disabled Sports Games, demonstrating potential for development. Gyeongnam Province will continue to make steady efforts to expand infrastructure including sports facilities for the disabled and to establish a foundation for the development of disabled sports and the promotion of welfare.”
