Kick-off Meeting for Forest Welfare Complex Construction Project
Development of Three Districts: Natural Recreation Forest, Healing Forest, and Forest Leisure
[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do held a kickoff briefing session on the 8th for the "Forest Welfare Complex Development Project" to provide forest welfare services.
The briefing session was attended by about 10 people, including Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, Jo Young-sik, Vice Chairman, Choi Jung-wook, Assemblyman, and Ji Min, Assemblyman.
The Wando-gun Forest Welfare Complex will be developed in the area of San 214-1, Gayong-ri, Wando-eup, covering 94 hectares, with a project cost of about 30 billion KRW, creating three zones: 'Natural Recreation Forest,' 'Healing Forest,' and 'Forest Leisure Sports.'
According to the detailed development plan, the 'Natural Recreation Forest Zone' will include tree houses, forest houses, and forest recreation centers; the 'Healing Forest Zone' will feature wind bathing areas, tree decks, and healing forest trails; and the 'Forest Leisure Sports Zone' will have various facilities such as net adventures and adventure slides.
In addition to essential facilities, the complex plans to create a 'Children's Forest' for infants, a 'Wood Culture Experience Center' for teenagers, 'Forest Leisure Sports Facilities' for adults, and 'Healing Forest Trails' for the elderly, enabling people of all ages to enjoy forest welfare services.
Especially, the site for the forest welfare complex is located 10 minutes from Wando-eup, offering good accessibility and the potential to link with marine healing and major tourist attractions, which is expected to invigorate tourist inflow and tourism activation.
Park Eun-jae, Director of Forest Recreation, said, "We will review the opinions presented at the briefing and devise various measures to establish a basic plan to create a differentiated and specialized forest welfare complex compared to other regions."
Wando County Governor Shin Woo-cheol emphasized, "Please establish a basic plan for the forest welfare complex linked with the marine healing industry, the National Subtropical Arboretum, and the National Marine Fisheries Museum so that our county can become a center of the healing industry encompassing marine and forest healing."
