Additional Recruitment of 8 Households for Young Adults Without Housing, Young Entrepreneurs, and Young Artists Residing in Seoul... Registration by Registered Mail to Geumcheon-gu Office Job Youth Division by December 21
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) is recruiting tenants for vacant units in youth-tailored rental housing until December 21.
Geumcheon-gu operates youth-tailored public rental housing at prices lower than market rates in cooperation with the Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation to alleviate housing insecurity for young people without homes. The tailored public rental housing consists of five-story buildings with exclusive areas of 26 to 31㎡ per unit, including 39 units of Social Mix-type youth housing (around 149ga-gil, Siheung-daero) and 48 units of G-Valley House (145-gil, Siheung-daero), totaling 87 units.
The vacant units available this time include 6 units in the Social Mix-type youth housing and 2 units in G-Valley House, totaling 8 units.
Applicants must be members of a non-homeowning household residing in Seoul as of the announcement date (December 1), aged between 19 and 39, and meet the income criteria of 70% or less of the previous year's average monthly income for urban workers' households. For G-Valley House, additional requirements include being a creative entrepreneur under the "Act on Fostering One-Person Creative Enterprises" or a young artist working in the cultural and artistic fields.
The rent is set at 30-50% of the surrounding market price, and residents can live for up to six years through two renewals if they maintain eligibility.
Applications can be submitted by registered mail to the Job and Youth Division of the district office by December 21. Detailed information about the application process can be found on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under "Notices and Announcements" or on the Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation website.
Geumcheon-gu will select the final tenants in early March 2023 after reviewing applicants' income and assets, and tenants can move in from April to June.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "In Geumcheon-gu, we operate rental housing for various groups in addition to youth-tailored rental housing," and added, "We will continue to supply demand-tailored rental housing to improve housing welfare for marginalized groups."
