[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the ‘Resource Circulation Drawing Contest Exhibition’ held in the lobby on the first floor of Mapo District Office on the 10th, spending time with residents viewing the artworks and reflecting on resource circulation.

The event was organized by residents of Sangam-dong to share the works submitted to the Resource Circulation Drawing Contest held on October 30th at Guryong Neighborhood Park in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, and to build consensus that proper recycling alone can eliminate the need for additional incinerator construction.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “Children in Mapo, who are at the age to enjoy playing and studying, are worried about the additional incinerator construction and anxious about environmental issues,” adding, “Before it’s too late, the Seoul Metropolitan Government should consider and establish fundamental policies regarding ‘reducing incinerated waste through strengthened recycling,’ which Mapo-gu has proposed and demonstrated.”

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the ‘2022 Nowon Innovation Education District - Parent Network Party’ held at the Nowon District Office auditorium at 10:30 a.m. on the 10th.

The event aimed to provide an opportunity for exchange among participants of the parent participation support project by sharing their activities, promoting diversification of parent participation activities, and fostering the expansion and growth of their roles as key members of the community.

About 120 parents participating in the parent participation support project, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, attended the event, which proceeded with guest introductions, viewing of parent participation activity videos, greetings and congratulatory speeches, activity presentations, commemorative photos, and talent sharing by clubs.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon District said, “When parents’ life satisfaction increases, our children become happier,” and added, “We will actively support the creation of a village education community centered on parents.”

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, encouraged participants at the ‘2022 Yeongdeungpo District Disabled Dart Competition’ held on the 10th morning at the 3rd-floor auxiliary gymnasium of Yeongdeungpo No.1 Sports Center.

The competition was hosted by the Yeongdeungpo District Disabled Sports Association and was attended by about 150 people including players, referees, and staff. The game was conducted as an individual event where players threw three darts at a time, and the winner was determined by the highest total score over four rounds.

Mayor Choi Ho-kwon of Yeongdeungpo District said, “Recreational sports are a culture for leisure use, health maintenance, and forming human relationships,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that everyone, regardless of disability, can enjoy recreational sports close to home.”
