173 Recipients Including Gyeongnam Traders Awarded Government Honors on Trade Day
The recipients of the 28th Gyeongnam Trade Award and the government awards from the 59th Trade Day are taking a commemorative photo.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The 28th Gyeongnam Trader Awards Ceremony and the 59th Trade Day Government Commendation Presentation Ceremony were held on the 9th.
The event, held at the Grand Mercure Ambassador Changwon Grand Ballroom, was attended by Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, Kim Jin-bu, Chairman of the Provincial Council, Noh Eun-sik, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Enterprise Council, Kim Nam-gyu, Head of the Korea International Trade Association Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, as well as trade industry and related organization officials.
Gyeongnam Province announced that a total of 173 people were honored this year, including the Gyeongnam Trader Awards and the Trade Day Government Commendations.
The Gyeongnam Trader Awards included a total of 24 awards, consisting of 6 Export Merit Trophies for companies and 18 individual commendations, while the Trade Day Government Commendations included 119 Export Trophies for companies and 30 individual commendations, totaling 149 awards.
In the Export Merit Trophy category of the Gyeongnam Trader Awards, six companies received awards: Geonhwa Co., Ltd., Samo Metal Co., Ltd., SAT, People Who Make Blessings, Hu Biotech, and Ire Industry.
In the Export Merit Individual category, awards were given to Kim Kyung-jin of DY Power, Han Seung-won of Senit, Lee Chan-woo of ICEI Woobang, Shin Kwan-woo of P&L, Kang Jeong-hyun of Arasoft Co., Ltd., and Kim Yeon-i of Shin Rhinotech.
For export-related organizations, recipients included Kim Ji-eun of Korea Trade Insurance Corporation Gyeongnam Branch, Lee Seung-won of Korea International Trade Association Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, Kwon Yong-young of Now Industry, and Yoon Hyo-mi of Haneul Bio Agricultural Corporation for contributions to job creation. Additionally, eight people including Lee Geun-soo of K International received commendations from the Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association.
In the Export Trophy category of the Trade Day Government Commendations, Haesung DS received the 600 million USD Trophy; the 300 million USD Trophy went to D&Automotive, Samkang M&T, and Central; and the 100 million USD Trophy was awarded to DY Power and JS Tech.
The 70 million USD Trophy was awarded to three companies including Dong-A Hwasung; the 50 million USD Trophy to two companies including DK Lock; the 30 million USD Trophy to four companies including Daekwang Industry; the 20 million USD Trophy to seven companies including Gwangjin Precision; and the 10 million USD Trophy to 17 companies including DH Chemical.
The 7 million USD Trophy was awarded to 12 companies including Gyeongjin Forging; the 5 million USD Trophy to 10 companies including Kumho Needle; the 3 million USD Trophy to 18 companies including Glopix; and the 1 million USD Trophy to 40 companies including JM.
In the government individual commendations, Noh Eun-sik of DK Lock received the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit; Lee Min-soo of Shinseong Automotive received the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit; and Jung Hae-young of DY Power, Han Yoon-seok of Nexen Tire, and Lee Jin-yong of Semipron received the Industrial Service Merit Medal.
The Prime Minister’s Commendation was awarded to eight people including Joo Bong-hwan of DY Power; the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation to 11 people including Lee Guk-cheon of Haegang Industry; and the Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association Commendation to six people including Choi Seung-dong of Kencoa Aerospace.
Governor Park said, “The turnaround to a trade surplus in Gyeongnam last October and the recovery of exports to last year’s level are the results of the passion and efforts of entrepreneurs and traders,” adding, “Next year, we will continue to work together so that Gyeongnam’s economy can stand tall by overcoming crises.”
