Ulju-gun Southern Integrated Health Center Continues Operation of 'Mobile TokTok Nutrition Smart Network'

Ulju-gun Southern Integrated Health Center operates the 'Mobile Toktok Nutrition Smart Network'.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Nambu Integrated Health Center in Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, has operated a non-face-to-face nutrition program called ‘Mobile Toktok Nutrition Smart Network’ for residents in the southern region from April to this month.

This program was composed of educational topics tailored to life cycle-specific targets, such as a picky eating prevention class for mothers and children, and low-salt and low-sugar programs.

After participating in the picky eating prevention program, the picky eating correction rate among children was 75.8%, and the rate of practicing breakfast for more than five days was 87.9%. After participating in the low-salt and low-sugar program, the rate of those who said they would continue to strive for healthy eating habits was high at 98.0%.

In addition to operating this program, the Nambu Integrated Health Center plans to provide information so that local residents can continuously practice nutrition, and establish healthy habits through nutrition mission certifications such as eating breakfast, eating healthy snacks, and consuming three or more kinds of vegetables and fruits.

Lee Jonghee, the director of the health center, said, “Since the nutrition activity classes not only improve eating habits but also have high satisfaction among participants, we plan to continue operating the program,” and added, “We also plan to additionally operate dietary programs for single-person households in the future.”
