[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Emart24 announced on the 9th that it has donated 32.96 million KRW from the ‘Strikeout Donation Campaign’ conducted together with the SSG Landers baseball team to the Incheon Community Chest of Korea.
The donation, delivered at 3 PM the previous day at Incheon SSG Landers Field, will be used for medical expenses for pediatric cancer patients in the Incheon area. The event was attended by Shin Hosang, Executive Director of Marketing at Emart24, employees, Jo Sangbeom, Chairman of the Incheon Community Chest of Korea, and Seo Jinyong, the player who raised the most donations.
Previously, Emart24 conducted the strikeout donation campaign during the 2022 professional baseball season, following the previous year, accumulating donations according to the home game situations of the SSG Landers.
During home games, 200,000 KRW was donated each time the SSG Landers pitcher recorded a strikeout with two outs and runners on base, and 1.24 million KRW was donated when a strikeout ended a bases-loaded two-out crisis.
Shin Hosang, Executive Director of Marketing at Emart24, said, “We delivered the donation accumulated through this strikeout donation campaign, which contains the energy of overcoming crises, victory, and fans’ support, hoping it will help overcome pediatric cancer even a little.” He added, “Emart24 plans to continue social contribution activities like the strikeout donation campaign steadily.”
