[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] Since the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the market value of South Korea's national football team striker Jo Gyu-seong (24, Jeonbuk) is expected to soar.

On the 8th (local time), the British football media 'Football365' selected a list of 11 players by position whose transfer market value (expected transfer fee) is expected to rise sharply due to their performance in this World Cup. Football365 analyzed, "Last month, Jo Gyu-seong's expected transfer fee was only 1.4 million euros (about 1.9 billion KRW), but now it is definitely not the case," including Jo Gyu-seong in the forward section of this list.

Jo Gyu-seong made his presence known on the world stage by scoring two goals in the second group stage match against Ghana in Group H held on the 28th of last month in Al Rayyan, Qatar. He is the first Korean player to score multiple goals in a single World Cup match. Football365 stated, "Jo Gyu-seong's two goals scored within 3 minutes against Ghana have diverted attention from Son Heung-min, who had been the sole focus of the Korean national team," and analyzed, "Those goals will change Jo Gyu-seong's life."

In fact, European clubs' interest in Jo Gyu-seong is also intense. Clubs familiar to domestic fans such as Celtic (Scotland) and Fenerbah?e (T?rkiye) have already shown interest in him. Jo Gyu-seong, who was also the top scorer in this season's K League, expressed his determination by saying, "I want to go anywhere where I can improve my skills and grow."

The other two forwards included in the Best 11 list alongside Jo Gyu-seong also have impressive profiles. Cody Gakpo (23, Eindhoven) from the Netherlands scored three consecutive goals in three Group A matches. Gakpo, who is currently leading the Dutch Eredivisie in both goals (9) and assists (6) this season, is reportedly receiving love calls from famous clubs such as Manchester United (England) and Real Madrid (Spain).

Another player selected for the Best 11, Japan's Doan Ritsu (24, Freiburg), made a strong impression by scoring an equalizer just 4 minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 30th minute of the second half during the first Group E match against Germany, which was trailing 0-1, laying the foundation for a 2-1 comeback victory. He also scored an equalizer just 3 minutes after coming on as a substitute in the third match against Spain, leading to a 2-1 comeback win.

Additionally, the Best 11 midfielders include Jude Bellingham (19, England), Sofyan Amrabat (25, Morocco), and Tyler Adams (23, USA). The defenders selected are Harry Souttar (24, Australia), Josko Gvardiol (20, Croatia), Noussair Mazraoui (25, Morocco), and Denzel Dumfries (26, Netherlands). The goalkeeper chosen is Yassine Bounou (31, Morocco).
