Yeongyang-gun Selected as Best Institution for Public Service on Homepage This Year

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang County in Gyeongbuk was selected as the ‘Best Public Service Institution for Homepage in 2022’ in the web quality assessment of representative homepages conducted for 23 cities and counties in Gyeongbuk Province.

This homepage web quality assessment, hosted by Gyeongbuk Province, was designed to enable socially vulnerable groups such as the disabled and the elderly to access city and county information more easily. It evaluated six categories including accessibility, compatibility, and ease of search for each representative homepage of the 23 cities and counties.

Yeongyang County has continuously worked on improving web accessibility and compatibility to ensure that vulnerable groups such as the disabled and elderly have no difficulties using the homepage. It previously received the ‘Best Award’ at the 2017 Web Award Korea and the Excellence Award for Public Service in City and County Homepages in 2019.

County Governor Oh Do-chang said, “We will continue to strengthen support so that not only general users but also the disabled and elderly can access and use the homepage without discrimination.”
