[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Umi Hope Foundation donated 800 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love) to participate in the 'Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign.'
On the 7th, Umi Hope Foundation announced that it held a donation ceremony for the 'Umi Dream Square' child and youth public project with Umi Hope Foundation at the Fruit of Love Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, the previous day. The ceremony was attended by Lee Seokjun, Chairman of Umi Hope Foundation, and Hwang Insik, Secretary General of Fruit of Love, among others.
The donation will be used for education and psychological/emotional support public projects to help children and youth grow into healthy members of society. In the education sector, programs aimed at closing the education gap and improving access to education will be supported, while in the psychological/emotional sector, mental health promotion programs to overcome violence victimization, depression, and isolation will be supported.
Lee Seokjun, Chairman of Umi Hope Foundation, said, "As social issues concerning children and youth are diversifying due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we will discover innovative and timely projects to respond to these challenges," adding, "We ask for the interest and participation of many organizations contributing to the healthy growth of children and youth who will lead future generations."
Umi Hope Foundation is a public interest corporation established in 2006 by Umi Construction. It operates the 'Umi Dream Finder' career program for families affected by construction industry accidents and multicultural families' children and youth, as well as the 'Umi 多Dream 多Irum (U.Da.Da)' learning education and care support project for multicultural families.
