[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 7th that it has collaborated with K2 Safety to improve the uniforms of its maintenance technicians in order to enhance their working environment and job satisfaction while ensuring the safe operation of aircraft.
K2 Safety is a brand specializing in industrial safety that develops workwear, safety shoes, and safety equipment for workers operating in various fields.
First, T'way Air selected spring and summer uniforms from K2 Safety’s professional ready-made clothing line, chosen through employee voting for products that offer better mobility and functionality compared to the existing uniforms. Distribution began in September. Reinforced fabric was used on the knees and elbows to increase durability. The uniforms feature multiple pockets for easy storage and reflective strips to enhance safety during nighttime work, providing comfortable wear.
Additionally, new cold-weather gear was produced to withstand the winter cold. Similarly, among K2 Safety’s ready-made products, those that best reflected employees’ demands for warmth and storage space were selected and distributed starting last month.
Following the collaboration on maintenance technician uniforms, T'way Air and K2 Group’s online mall ‘K.VILLAGE’ will also run a joint promotion until February 28 next year.
During the promotion period, the first 10,000 purchasers of K.VILLAGE products will receive discount coupons for T'way Air’s domestic and international flights. Customers who purchase T'way Air tickets will be given 10,000 won mileage to use at K.VILLAGE.
Since its launch, T'way Air has strived to improve employee job satisfaction under the management philosophy of ‘Our Airline Together.’ In particular, for maintenance technicians responsible for 24-hour outdoor aircraft inspections, the airline has provided items such as UV protection gear in summer and cold-weather hoods and boots in winter to enhance work convenience.
A T'way Air official said, “We hope this will contribute to improving the working environment of maintenance technicians who are doing their best to ensure safe operations despite the onset of winter cold,” adding, “We will continue to explore various ways to enhance employee job satisfaction.”
