Second half Moa Town briefing session held at Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center on the 11th of last month
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold a "Preliminary Resident Briefing Session on the Garojutaek Redevelopment Project in the Suyu-dong 180-29 Area" at 5 p.m. on the 9th in the district office's planning situation room.
The district prepared this briefing session for local residents involved in redevelopment and reconstruction projects to help them better understand the Garojutaek redevelopment project.
The briefing will be led by Professor Kim Byung-chun from the Department of Urban Engineering at Seokyeong University, an expert in redevelopment projects. He will explain the project implementation procedures, characteristics of the Garojutaek redevelopment project, guidance on the consent form for establishing the association, withdrawal and contribution fee calculation standards, followed by a Q&A session.
The participants are landowners in the Suyu-dong 180-29 area Garojutaek redevelopment project who received the consent form for establishing the association at the end of last November.
The district expects that holding a preliminary resident briefing session from the stage of issuing the consent form before the association establishment will prevent resident confusion and conflicts in advance.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "Many conflicts arise because residents do not properly understand the exact project procedures, contribution fee calculation standards, or consent form withdrawal criteria," adding, "We will continue to operate preliminary resident briefing sessions to support the smooth progress of the project without sparing any effort."
Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Ki-jae) announced that it was the only autonomous district selected as the best institution among autonomous districts in the 2022 Construction Work Fair Subcontracting Promotion Evaluation conducted by Seoul City.
This evaluation assessed the overall subcontracting and policy promotion status of construction works with contract amounts of 30 million KRW or more, targeting Seoul City, 25 autonomous districts, and affiliated organizations (construction, public corporations) from November last year to October this year.
Yangcheon-gu was evaluated as the best autonomous district in comprehensive assessments of ▲subcontract payment ▲subcontract process management ▲support for improving employment of construction workers ▲direct construction items.
In particular, the district was recognized for excellent performance in direct payment of subcontract fees, self-inspection and measures on subcontracting status, and the implementation of the subcontractor interview system.
Furthermore, the district has established and implemented the "Construction Work Fair Subcontracting Promotion Plan" to improve unfair practices related to construction subcontracting and to establish a fair subcontracting culture through win-win cooperation between primary contractors and subcontractors. Through this, it has promoted ▲implementation of electronic subcontract contracts and direct payment of fees ▲mandatory submission of confirmation of non-existence of illegal subcontracting and unfair special contracts ▲inspection and compliance confirmation of unfair subcontracting ▲operation of the subcontracting grievance reporting center ▲subcontractor interview system (opinion hearing) by ordering agencies, strengthening inspection and management functions to fundamentally block unfair practices.
Lee Ki-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "I am pleased that our district's efforts for win-win cooperation between primary contractors and subcontractors have been recognized with this award," adding, "We will continue to strive to eradicate remaining illegal subcontracting and to establish a transparent and fair subcontracting culture in the local community."
