[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University Lifelong Education Center held the graduation ceremony for the 25th Gyeongnam Women Leaders Course at 11 a.m. on the 6th at Nammyung Hall, Nammyung Building, Gajwa Campus.

About 50 people attended the ceremony, including Chu Gap-cheol, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, Kim Hyun-mi, Head of the Women's Policy Division of Gyeongsangnam-do, and 35 graduates of the 25th Women Leaders Education Course.

The Gyeongnam Women Leaders Course was established to expand women's political and social participation in the era of local autonomy, contribute to the development of local communities and the Gyeongnam Provincial Government, and cultivate women leaders who respond to the era of globalization and informatization. Gyeongsang National University signed a consignment education agreement with Gyeongsangnam-do for the Women Leaders Course in 1998. Starting with 26 students in the first class in 1998, it has produced 902 graduates up to the 24th class last year.

The graduates completing the course this day completed a total of 110 hours of education over the past nine months, including 55 hours of specialized education such as speech, meeting facilitation, image making, and political participation; 22 hours of specialized education such as Gyeongnam Provincial Government, general knowledge for daily life, and self-development; and 33 hours of autonomous education such as field experience learning, social service, and workshops.

Chu Gap-cheol, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, said, “As women leaders, I hope you spread positive influence to many places to create a better world,” and added, “We look forward to the great achievements of the graduates who are newly becoming members of the Gyeongsang National University Alumni Association.”
