Gochang-gun Provides 'Double Cropping Direct Payment' to 481 Farms

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] On the 6th, Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced that it will pay 490 million won to 481 farming households in Gochang to stabilize the income of farmers managing rice paddy utilization (double cropping) and to promote the public value of agriculture and rural areas.

The county finalized the recipients after receiving applications from February to March, verifying eligibility, and conducting on-site compliance inspections.

The rice paddy double cropping direct payment applies to rice paddies used for field farming from October last year to June this year, including food crops such as barley, wheat, oats, potatoes, and forage crops such as grasses, with a payment rate of 500,000 won per hectare.

County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “I hope this rice paddy double cropping direct payment will help farming households striving to enhance the public functions of agriculture and rural areas,” and added, “We will do our best to create a healthy and vibrant rural community as well as stabilize farmers' income.”
