On the 6th at 2:50 PM, Deputy Mayor Byeongjin Lee will visit the Gwangalli site to directly inspect the festival preparation status, including checking safety-vulnerable areas and surrounding facilities.

Prior to the on-site inspection, on November 29, the city held a safety measures inspection meeting chaired by the Deputy Mayor to recheck the roles and preparation status of related organizations. Since the fireworks festival is resuming with difficulty, the safety of spectators is prioritized above all in the on-site inspection.

On that day, Deputy Mayor Lee plans to walk directly from the main route for spectators, the Gwangalli Station of the urban railway, to Gwangalli Beach to thoroughly check safety-vulnerable areas from the perspective of the spectators and ensure safety.

He will examine the main entrances to Gwangalli Beach (16 locations) and nearby spectator risk areas, focusing on the overall event by checking the deployment locations of safety personnel, LED traffic guidance vehicles on the main beach entrances, and the status of emergency passage securing, as well as confirming spectator convenience to ensure no inconvenience in movement.

Through this on-site inspection, the city plans to identify potential problems in advance and establish a thorough preparedness system for all aspects of event safety, taking full responsibility for spectator safety from viewing to returning home without any gaps.

Deputy Mayor Byeongjin Lee said, “We are determined to prove the capability of Busan as a safe city by holding a safe festival without accidents, and we are building a close cooperation system with related organizations,” adding, “Although the number of spectators is expected to decrease compared to the original event due to the cold weather in December, since this is the Busan Fireworks Festival held for the first time in three years, we will do our best until the end to ensure the safety and convenience of all spectators.”

He also added, “We ask everyone to come dressed warmly in preparation for the cold weather on the day of the event.”

The city plans to conduct safety training for team leaders by district and hold an on-site briefing meeting chaired by the mayor to ensure the safe and successful hosting of the Busan Fireworks Festival.

A joint on-site inspection with related organizations will be conducted on the 16th, the day before the festival, and a final on-site inspection will be carried out on the day of the event to respond flawlessly to any safety accidents.
