Ryu Chun-oh, former Vice President of the Muan County Sports Council, declared his candidacy for the Muan County Sports Council President at a press conference held on the 5th in the 3rd-floor meeting room of the Muan County Culture and Sports Department. He expressed his ambitious determination, saying, “Based on my long experience in the sports community for the development of Muan sports, I will create a revitalized sports council and firmly establish the foundation for the development of Muan sports.”
Candidate Ryu explained the background of his candidacy, stating, “Due to COVID-19, we have once again realized how precious sports activities enjoyed in daily life are, and we have come to understand the importance of what the sports council at the center of this must do.”
He stated that his first pledge is to create regular communication platforms centered on each sports association to build a communicative sports council that reflects the intentions of sports club members.
Additionally, he pledged to take the lead in revitalizing the local economy by expanding the hosting of nationwide youth-centered competitions through the expansion of insufficient sports facilities. He also promised to improve the quality of life for local residents by providing balanced development of professional and recreational sports, and by offering open administration and transparent sports administration services through the disclosure of various sports council information on the website, thereby raising the pride of athletes and the status of Muan sports.
Meanwhile, candidate Ryu Chun-oh is currently serving as CEO of Gwangseong Industrial Construction and has been involved in the sports community for many years. Until recently, he served as Vice President of the Muan County Sports Council.
The 11th Muan County Sports Council President election for the 2nd term of the civilian administration will be held on December 22.
