[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] “Dong-sik, what is the most important focus in your 2023 business plan?”

Yoon Dong-sik, CEO of kt cloud, is dedicating himself to internal communication with employees following the company’s launch and the ‘Employee Send-off Ceremony’ where business strategies and vision were shared.

kt cloud announced on the 5th that, marking eight months since its launch, the CEO held a ‘Keckle Sharing Session’ to transparently share management issues and achievements with all employees.

The Keckle Sharing Session, held online, was conducted casually without a host or formalities, with CEO Yoon Dong-sik directly communicating with all employees. CEO Yoon shared the management issues and actual achievements of the founding year, as well as the direction the organization will take.

At kt cloud, CEO Yoon Dong-sik uses the honorific ‘nim’ just like other employees. To enable flexible and informal communication with the younger generation, the company abolished the rank system and fully adopted the ‘nim’ honorific system. The number of kt cloud employees has more than doubled from about 280 at launch to the current number in December. The average age of employees hired after the launch is 33.7 years.

The company also introduced a corporate culture program called ‘Boiling Point.’ Named after the boiling point to symbolize the company’s dedication to intergenerational exchange, fusion, and communication and empathy among all employees.

Through the flagship program ‘90℃,’ employees born in the 1990s communicate and build friendships with employees from other departments. Participants plan and conduct the activities themselves, while the company supports them with half-day off, activity funds, and bucket lists. There are also ‘80℃’ and ‘70℃’ programs for employees born in the 1980s and 1970s, respectively.

There is also the ‘Keckle Lunch’ program that spans all generations. Employees randomly matched regardless of department, role, or age can have lunch together and build camaraderie. All executive meetings and weekly and monthly business strategy meetings are open for any employee to attend.

CEO Yoon Dong-sik said, “With our unique corporate culture, all employees have become a stronger Keckle One Team, which is our business competitiveness and future growth engine. We will continue to lead the market as Korea’s number one DX company by fostering open communication and boundaryless sharing, empathizing with each other, and focusing more on the essence.”
