[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 5th that it will operate a Taiwan Taipei route from Daegu Airport in January next year, following Jeju Airport this month.
Starting December 24, a new Jeju?Taipei route will be launched twice a week. From January 3 next year, operations will increase to four times a week. From January 1 next year, the Daegu?Taipei route will resume with daily flights, further expanding Daegu Airport's international route network.
Taipei is a city visited by many travelers thanks to its various attractions, including vibrant night markets with diverse food options, Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum, and nearby Yesjinji (Yehliu, Shifen, Jinguashi, Jiufen) day tours.
To commemorate the resumption of the Taiwan route, T'way Air will hold a promotion from today until the 31st on its website, mobile app, and web. One-way total fares start from 109,700 KRW for Daegu?Taipei and 124,700 KRW for Jeju?Taipei.
Additionally, when booking round-trip tickets, entering the discount code ‘KRTW’ will provide an immediate discount of up to 10% on the fare. The travel period is from the start of each route's operation until March 25 next year.
During the same period, T'way Air's Taiwan (Traditional Chinese) website will also offer special promotions on locally issued tickets for inbound passengers.
Currently, both South Korea and Taiwan allow free travel without requiring COVID-19 negative test certificates, vaccination certificates, or visas. With the reopening of this air route, T'way Air plans to enhance travel convenience for both domestic travelers and visitors to Korea, as well as support the revitalization of the domestic tourism industry.
A T'way Air official said, “This winter, we hope travelers will depart for Taipei, a city full of diverse attractions, from nearby airports,” adding, “We plan to continuously expand our destinations so that customers can enjoy overseas travel more conveniently.”
