[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] It has been revealed that the execution rate of the 'Munhwa Nuri Card,' which Gyeonggi Province increased the support amount for to enhance cultural and leisure activities for vulnerable groups, is only 67.5%. Gyeonggi Province has urged active use, stating that the card will become invalid if not used by the end of this year.
The Munhwa Nuri Card is provided to improve the quality of life and reduce cultural gaps for vulnerable groups, targeting basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups aged 6 and above. To ease household burdens caused by high inflation, the province raised the support amount to 110,000 won in September this year, an increase of 10,000 won.
According to the province on the 5th, the target population for Munhwa Nuri Card issuance in the province is about 470,000 people (approximately 51.76 billion won), and as of November 30, 419,633 people (issuance rate 89.17%) have received the card. Among them, the amount spent is about 34.94 billion won, resulting in an execution rate of 67.5%.
The province explained that those who have not yet received the Munhwa Nuri Card can obtain it at any local community center nationwide, through the Munhwa Nuri Card website, or via the mobile application.
Users who have difficulty using the card can enjoy various cultural services through the Gyeonggi Munhwa Nuri Card planning program called the 'Superman Project.'
'Visiting and Bringing Superman' directly visits the places users want or supports transportation to provide programs such as cultural and artistic experiences, performances, and travel.
The 'Cultural Products Superman,' which allows easy telephone purchase and delivery of cultural products from museums and art galleries affiliated with the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, and the discount performance reservation site 'Gyeonggi Munhwa Nuri Performance Mall' are also in operation.
Detailed information about the Superman Project can be found on the 'Gyeonggi Munhwa Nuri' Naver Cafe. The Munhwa Nuri Card can be used at registered Munhwa Nuri Card affiliated stores nationwide in the fields of culture, arts, tourism, and sports.
A provincial official stated, "Even if the card is issued, if it is not used within the year, the remaining balance cannot be used," and added, "New card issuance ends on December 14."
