[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Jin Seung-il, a member of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 4th that he proposed to promote the "Amendment of the Ordinance on the Operation of the Quality Inspection Team for Apartment Complexes in Gwangju Metropolitan City" through a 5-minute free speech at the 308th 1st plenary session.
Former Assemblyman Jin pointed out, "Under the current ordinance, only apartment complexes with 300 or more households can consult the quality inspection team, so prospective residents of 11 apartment complexes with fewer than 300 households in the district are not protected by the Housing Act and the ordinance."
He added, "We will officially request the Gwangju Metropolitan City Council to amend the ordinance, which mainly stipulates that the installation and operation of the quality inspection team for apartment complexes with 300 or more households will be promoted by the metropolitan city, and those with fewer than 300 households will be promoted by the autonomous district."
Meanwhile, the "Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Quality Inspection Team for Apartment Complexes in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City," which was sponsored by Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae, was enacted in 2019, but since there is no provision in the Gwangju Metropolitan City ordinance delegating authority to autonomous districts, the quality inspection team operation ordinances of Seo-gu, as well as Dong-gu, Buk-gu, and Gwangsan-gu, have not been applied.
