At Changwon International Shooting Range, the 'Changwon Mayor's Cup National Amateur eSports Tournament' Finals Held The finals of the "2022 3rd Changwon Mayor's Cup National Amateur eSports Tournament," hosted by Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, were held at the Changwon International Shooting Range.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] The finals of the '2022 3rd Changwon Mayor's Cup National Amateur eSports Tournament,' hosted by Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, were spectacularly held on the 3rd at the Changwon International Shooting Range.


In this tournament, 267 amateur eSports players from across the country competed in the qualifiers for two games, League of Legends and KartRider, online on November 26th. About 80 players who passed the online qualifiers participated in the finals on this day, showcasing their best skills.


The Changwon Mayor's Cup National Amateur eSports Tournament is a nationwide amateur eSports competition started in 2020 to promote balanced development of eSports and expand the base of amateur eSports. The event has grown in enthusiasm every year and is now in its third edition.


On this day, not only the finals but also various experiential side events such as a KartRider tournament with parents and siblings, a nostalgic arcade, and an eSports academy were held, receiving great responses not only from citizens interested in eSports but also from family audiences.


Gu Jin-ho, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, said, "eSports has established itself as a popular sport and leisure activity that all citizens, not just youth, can enjoy and communicate through," adding, "Through hosting this amateur eSports tournament, we will enhance the brand and plan and promote various programs for talent development, including discovering eSports players."
