‘I’m a College Student Too! Today is the Day to Wear a Graduation Cap and Graduate’, The 37th Graduation Ceremony of the Senior College at Daehan Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch Held Yeongyang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The 37th graduation ceremony of the Senior Citizens' University affiliated with the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch was held on the 2nd at the auditorium of Yeongyang-gun Comprehensive Welfare Center.


Starting with the entrance ceremony in June, 45 people who completed various program courses such as liberal arts and health lectures over five months held the graduation ceremony on this day.


About 100 people attended the graduation ceremony, including Han Seunghwan, Deputy Governor of Yeongyang, Kim Seokhyun, Chairman of Yeongyang County Council, executives of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch, heads of eup and myeon branches, education committee members, and graduates.


The graduation ceremony, hosted by the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch, began with the reading of the senior citizens' pledge, which stated, "We strive to become respected elders in our families and society," followed by the awarding of diplomas to 45 graduates, attendance awards to 7 people, perfect attendance awards to 5 people, and effort awards to 2 people.


The ceremony proceeded in a warm atmosphere with students presenting a bouquet to Park Seonggil, the university president, who worked hard for a year, followed by a graduation commemorative speech by President Park Seonggil and a congratulatory speech by Branch President Ahn Jaebeom.


Deputy Governor Han Seunghwan said, "I sincerely congratulate the elders, who are the mainstay of Yeongyang-gun's development, on their graduation from the Senior Citizens' University," and added, "There is no time limit for learning. I hope you design a happy old age with the knowledge and experience gained through the Senior Citizens' University course," sending applause of respect and congratulations.


Celebrating its 37th term this year, the Senior Citizens' University affiliated with the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch was established in 1984 and has produced over 1,800 graduates to date.
