[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Fresh Easy announced on the 2nd that it will release two types of publishing alcoholic beverages in collaboration with Korea’s representative hip-hop artist couple Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae through convenience store CU.
The two alcoholic beverages collaborated with Tiger JK & Yoon Mi-rae are the first publishing alcoholic products introduced by Fresh Easy, a ready-meal publishing company. Previously, Fresh Easy had also launched ready-meal products in collaboration with the hip-hop label ‘AOMG’ and popular YouTuber ‘Park Mak-rye Grandma.’ This time, they have entered the alcoholic beverage market with products created together with the unique hip-hop artist couple Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae.
The new products consist of two types: beer and soju. To intuitively express the couple’s identity, the packaging design is bold, and the artists’ names are directly used as the product names. Tiger JK Beer is the first product released after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in February with the craft beer startup The Starlight Brewing for product development and distribution network sharing. Reflecting Tiger JK’s desire to create beer that everyone can enjoy, the beer was made using green grapes personally selected by him to create a fruit beer. It uses green grape pur?e to capture the rich aroma of green grapes, characterized by a sweet yet refreshing taste. Mirae Soju is a distilled soju that uses the name of Korea’s top female hip-hop artist Yoon Mi-rae. It features a vacuum distillation method that reduces hangover-causing substances to minimize intoxication. It is made without washing the rice, resulting in a clean and deep flavor with a rich grain aroma.
The new products are exclusively released at CU and are available in a limited quantity of 20,000 units for the first launch. Signature goods glasses that change color depending on temperature will also be released.
A Fresh Easy official said, "This product was planned by actively utilizing the identity of Korea’s representative artist couple Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae, keeping in mind the harmony when mixed together. Starting with this product, we plan to expand our publishing product lineup to include beverages and alcoholic drinks, offering various products that align with customers’ overall lifestyles."
