[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Jo] The Police Agency's Special Investigation Headquarters (Special Investigation HQ), which is investigating the Itaewon tragedy, will summon Kim Gwang-ho, the Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, as a suspect for questioning on the 2nd.

On the morning of the same day, the Special Investigation HQ plans to summon Chief Kim, who is accused of professional negligence resulting in death and injury, to the Special Investigation HQ interrogation room at the Mapo Office of the Seoul Police Agency to verify the measures taken before and after the tragedy as the person responsible for security and policing during the Halloween period. Earlier, the Police Agency's Special Inspection Team conducted a face-to-face investigation of Chief Kim on the 11th, received a written response on the 14th, and then handed over the inspection materials to the Special Investigation HQ on the 28th. Based on the inspection materials from the Special Inspection Team, evidence secured through searches and seizures, and interviews with related parties, the Special Investigation HQ changed Chief Kim's status to suspect and is known to be conducting the first summons interrogation on this day.
