Barogo Releases Delivery Data for South Korea National Football Team Group Stage Match Days
Delivery Completions on Uruguay and Ghana Match Days Up 18.7% and 37.6% Respectively Compared to Previous Week
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The number of completed deliveries significantly increased on the days when the South Korea national football team had group stage matches. Barogo (CEO Lee Taekwon) revealed delivery data from the 24th and 28th of last month, when the South Korea national football team played, confirming this trend.
According to Barogo, the number of completed deliveries on the 24th, when the match against Uruguay took place, rose by 18.7% compared to the same day of the previous week, and on the 28th, when the match against Ghana was held, deliveries increased by 37.6% compared to the same period the previous week.
This was because, as the matches were held late at night, more people watched the games indoors with family and friends, known as 'Jipgwanjok' (home viewing groups). The amount spent on delivery orders also slightly increased. Comparing the proportion of deliveries over 30,000 KRW during the evening hours (7 PM to 10 PM) to the same days the previous week, the 24th saw a rise of 5.6 percentage points, and the 28th increased by 4.2 percentage points.
The 'Jipgwanjok' cheering groups started placing orders two hours before the matches. On the 28th, the proportion of delivery requests between 8 PM and 9 PM during the evening hours (7 PM to 10 PM) rose by 4.4 percentage points compared to the same time the previous week. This suggests many orders were placed considering cooking and delivery times.
