[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, will recruit 4,685 participants for the senior job and social activity support project from the 5th to the 28th of this month.

Suwon City will first select 3,659 participants for public interest activity jobs available to basic pension recipients aged 65 and older. Participants will be assigned to 'Nono Care (老老-care)', 'school meal service', and 'public facility volunteering'.

Nono Care involves visiting the homes of elderly people in vulnerable groups with physical difficulties to provide companionship and check on their well-being. School meal service involves assisting with school meal programs, and public facility volunteering involves environmental improvement activities at public facilities. Participants can receive up to 270,000 KRW in activity fees by working 30 hours per month (up to 3 hours per day).

The 'social service type', available to seniors aged 65 and older (some aged 60 and older), will select 750 participants. They will provide support such as 'disability service support' and 'senior customized care service support'. By working 60 hours per month, participants can receive up to 710,000 KRW in activity fees.

The 'market type', available to seniors aged 60 and older, will select 276 participants. They will be responsible for tasks such as 'working in small stores' and 'manufacturing and selling goods'. Working hours and activity fees vary according to the employment contract.

Seniors who wish to participate can apply by visiting the executing organizations by type or by accessing Senior Job Here and Bokjiro.

However, those who are ▲ recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act ▲ workplace subscribers to National Health Insurance ▲ long-term care insurance grade recipients (grades 1 to 5, cognitive support grade) ▲ participants in two or more job projects promoted by government ministries or local governments are not eligible to apply.

A city official said, "We hope this project will provide some help to seniors facing economic difficulties," and added, "We will do our best to provide more suitable jobs."
